More than 20 Armenian firms displayed their products at the “Expo’07-Armenia” exhibition that opened on January 18, 2007 in Toronto. The exhibition was organized and hosted by the Canada-Armenia Business Council (CABC, President Vahram Pirjanian), with the support of the Armenian Development Agency (ADA, General Director Vahagn Movsisyan).
The wares presented at the exhibition mainly included items that Armenia has been traditionally producing and exporting, such as food products, carpets, clothing, watches, leather goods and other light industry products. The IT industry, one of the fastest growing sectors of Armenian economy, was not represented at this particular exhibition.
Personal messages to the organizers of the exhibition have been sent by the Right Honourable Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada, H.E.Mr. Andranik Margarian, Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Honourable Dalton McGuinty, Premier of Ontario.
Present at the opening ceremony was the Honourable Jim Karygiannis MP, who welcomed the visiting Armenian manufacturers and producers and wished them success in entering the Canadian market and establishing long-lasting trade partnerships with Canadian importers and distributors.
